See AllChamang Waterfall Chamang Waterfall, or air terjun Chamang is a beautiful and waterfall in Malaysia’s Bentong district. Just a 30-minute drive away from the villa, the waterfall is perfect for an afternoon picnic with its smooth, rocky sitting areas. Follow your meal with a dip in the falls’ cooling waters - the fast moving waters give you an almost spa like experience.Bentong Town About a 15-minute drive away, Bentong is famous for its food - be sure to dig into wan tan mee, yong tau fu, chee cheong fun, tau fu fah, and its popular ABC. Don’t forget the durian buffet! You can also stop to take Insta-worthy photos with the Bentong street art murals.Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary This is a rare opportunity to get close to Malaysian elephants, as it is the only sanctuary in the country. Just under an hour’s drive away in the small town of Lanchang, you can observe the elephants as they roam freely, watch documentaries and conservation talks, or catch the elephants as they enjoy their daily bath from their caretaker. The elephant sanctuary was established in 1989 within the Krau Wildlife Reserve, and is managed by the Malaysian Department of Wildlife and National Parks.Deerland Park As the name implies, you can see deer here - as well as sun bears, snakes, and monkey! You can also visit the Nature Garden which is home to more than 40 medicinal herbs found in rainforests like Tongkat Ali and Kacip Fatimah, or join a jungle trekking tour where you can learn basic survival skills.Genting Strawberry Leisure Farms Have you ever wanted to pluck your own strawberries? You can do that at this Genting farm, or opt to buy prepackaged fruit. Once done, hop over to the Lavender farm where you can see the lavender plant in bloom and purchase lavender scented products.Kow Po Coffee Shop The homemade ice cream here is a must have, as this old-fashioned coffee shop has been whipping up its legendary dessert for about 40 years. Available in chocolate, vanilla, pandan, coconut, and even durian, you can also opt to have your ice cream with a float or ABC.Hooi Kee Wan Ton Noodles Join the long queues at this noodle shop that has been operating for more than 30 years - they usually sell out by 11am. The kopitiam also offers pretty good chee cheong fun and yong tau fu.Thong Kee coffee shop Serving tea that is known as yat kar yat or ‘the best of the best’, the Hainanese kopitiam is also famous for its steamed and toasted bread with kaya and butter.Lemang Toki A favourite among biking enthusiasts, you can see how lemang or bamboo rice is made step by step. Pair your rice with rendang or ayam percik, which the shop is just as famous for. All dishes are Halal.Perting Waterfall (Lata Hammers) Described by The Star newspaper as ‘Bentong’s gem of a waterfall’, the Perting Waterfall (or Lata Hammers) is a 30-minute hike away. Gear up for a good sweat - the descent to the pool takes you through a makeshift bridge and a canopied forest trail, but the pathway is clearly marked with arrows The large pool that greets visitors is worth the effort, though do be careful of strong currents.Bentong Taufu Fa Look for Kedai Tauhu Bentong, just a short walking distance from the wet market. The homemade tau fu fa (soy milk pudding) is served with a unique ginger syrup made from Bentong’s famous gingers. You can also buy fresh, homemade beancurd, soy puffs, and soy milk.Bilut Extreme Park Enjoy a game of Paintball, Archery or an ATV ride in the countryside!The Bentong Farm 文东休闲农场 Visitors can visit many animals at this popular farm with various habitats.
